I agree that “more areas of the brain” does not mean better necessarily, however I do wonder about the chiseling stone thing.
If you chiseled some formula or something into stone you’re unlikely to forget it any time soon. I wonder if forcing yourself to ruminate over something a bit longer than it takes to type it, in a way that can actually hold your attention or repeatedly bring it back to the topic, doesn’t indeed help.
